A Researcher’s Story

A Sallie House Experience;
a Researcher’s Story

Written by Donald Allen Kirch,

Author of “Manchester House.”

Well, I was there in 2004. The house was in between clients and the owner allowed us time in the place for two weekends. I was doing research for my novel and wanted to get involved with some real ghost hunters. I knew of your house back when it was called “The Heartland Haunting” on Fox’s series “Sightings.” So, when offered a chance to go, I went!

Our team just had a weird experience in the nursery, and I had been traveling down the staircase, heading back into the kitchen, taking notes. Suddenly, I felt a pair of very adult hands grab me by the shoulders, and a pair of child’s hands grab me by the ankles. This caused me to pause.

All at once, the adult hands pushed and the child hands pulled. If it had not been for my instincts to push against the wall and staircase, I could have tumbled down the stairs. Very scary stuff! Later, I ventured into the hole in the basement, behind the furnace — got scratched up on my neck and arms — never felt a thing. Only knew it happened when a female on our team pointed it out. Freaked her out more than me.

There was also a cameraman who got so sick, that we never saw him again. Don’t know why, or what he felt.

There’s something in that house, and you have a believer in me.
